Emergency Medical Technician - Baltimore and Crofton offices
Procare is seeking Full and Part-time Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B) and specifically EMT-B's who are Emergency Vehicle Operators (EVO's). Please do not apply if you do not have your EMT-B certification. Medical Aide, CMA or Phlebotomy techs should NOT apply as you do not meet the certification requirements of an EMT-B.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • EMT-B certification in Maryland. Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification in order to drive.
  • Duties include completing patient transport and working as a team with your partner (or with the Paramedic if EVO position) to provide patient care in a dynamic environment
  • Working as a team with dispatcher, management personnel and facilities to ensure safe and timely transports
  • Ambulance daily checkoff of supplies and vehicle to ensure compliance and safety
  • Ambulance cleaning and daily upkeep of unit
  • Assistance with office when requested/complying with cleaning duties given
  • Working as a team and sometimes with RNs and Critical Care Paramedics to complete all transport requests safely and timely
  • Corresponding with coworkers, facility staff and the general public professionally and with respect
  • Complying at all times with Uniform Policy and always looking and acting professional
  • Ability to work overtime when needed and ability to work nights, weekends or holidays
  • Knowledge of road safety and navigation in the areas we serve
  • Ability to utilize toughbook/E-PCR program to write Patient Care Reports thoroughly, truthfully and accurately in accordance with the law and company policies and procedures if acting as provider of care.
  • Knowledge of EMS system rules and protocols
  • Operating within certification level at all times
  • Taking care of and responsible for all medical equipment and supplies check-in, check-out and use
  • Complying with all contractual requirements of each contracted facility
  • Training on and complying with all company policies and procedures
  • Compliance with all privacy laws, rules and regulations
  • Attending company meetings and training sessions as required by company
  • Ability to safely lift and move patients of all shapes and sizes, work with many different ethnic groups, and navigate stretchers safely in unknown environments such as hospitals, facilities, nursing homes, doctor's offices and residences, including moving stretchers safely up and down ramps over rough or uneven terrain.

EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic

Paramedic certification in Maryland required and DC certification is preferred.

  • Working as a team and sometimes with RNs and Critical Care Paramedics to complete all transport requests safely and timely

  • EVOC certification or its equivalent for drivers of ALS units

EMT-B Communications Specialist - Baltimore and Crofton offices
Procare Integrated Health and Transport is seeking mature professionals who have the talent, skills, and experience necessary to dispatch and supervise medical transport crews - ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE AN EMT-B OR HIGHER. MEDICAL AIDES OR CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANTS DO NOT QUALIFY SO PLEASE DO NOT APPLY.

Available shifts include Weekend Shifts day and night and Weekday shifts at night.

Please do not apply unless you have your EMT-B certification or higher and can handle dispatching multiple medical transportation teams simultaneously while completing other tasks. Please do not apply if you do not have excellent customer service and leadership skills. However, this is NOT simply a customer service position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of EMS Communications Specialist Include:
  • Ensure high quality of customer service and professionalism with all clients and other callers
  • Managing medical transport crews to ensure that resources are utilized effectively
  • Communication with clients, management, co-workers and crews to ensure patients are transported safely and in a timely manner
  • Accept transport requests for non-emergency transport requests
  • Follow policies and procedures to ensure that all patients are transported in a timely manner.
  • Using CAD to enter and schedule transports as they are requested
  • Enter into the CAD system prescheduled calls 
  • Communicate with other dispatchers effectively, including pass on report
  • Ensure that all information is entered into the CAD including all times, demographics, payment information
  • Verify insurance and obtain pre-authorizations
  • Verify that all patient care reports and other paperwork is collected
  • Act as Shift Supervisor should issues arise and contact General Manager when appropriate
  • Run credit card payments
  • Correspond with crews with regard to level of care, call scheduling, call completion and any other issues that arise
  • Correspond with clients to ensure that they are aware of any issues that would affect timeliness in advance of lateness
  • Provide information to team as requested
  • Good computer and keyboard skills required
  • Knowledge of map reading and knowledge of or ability to learn geography in our service areas is required
  • Understanding of medical terminology and appropriate level of care is required
