What Services Does Procare Provide?
Procare provides Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), Specialty Care Transport (SCT), Critical Care Transport (CCT), Registered Nurse (RN) Transport, Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH), wheelchair transportation, bariatric transportation, and medical standby services throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia.
Where Does Procare Provide Service?
Procare serves healthcare facilities, physicians, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, assisted living communities, hospice providers, and patients throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia.
Is Procare Available 24 Hours a Day?
Yes. Our Communications Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, coordinating patient transportation and supporting our healthcare partners around the clock. Our Communications Center can be reached at (410) 823-0030 ×1
Scheduling Transportation
How Do I Schedule Transportation?
Transportation can be arranged by a hospital, healthcare provider, care facility, or by contacting our Communications Center directly. Services are scheduled subject to availability.
How Far in Advance Should Transportation Be Scheduled?
Whenever possible, we recommend scheduling transportation at least 24 hours in advance. However, we also accommodate urgent and same-day requests based on availability and medical priority.
Can Family Members Ride in the Ambulance?
In some situations, one family member or caregiver may accompany the patient, safety seat-belted, provided space and the patient's medical condition allow. Please contact our Communications Center for specific guidelines.

What Level of Transportation Does My Loved One Need?
The appropriate level of transport is determined by the patient's medical condition and physician's orders. Our team will ensure the appropriate clinicians and equipment are assigned to safely meet the patient's needs.
Are Your Clinicians Licensed and Certified?
Yes. Our EMTs, Paramedics, Registered Nurses, and other clinical professionals maintain all required state certifications and receive ongoing education and competency training.
Does Procare Transport Critically Ill Patients?
Yes. Our Specialty Care Transport (SCT), Critical Care Transport (CCT), and RN Transport programs are designed to safely transport medically complex patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions.
What Equipment is Carried on Your Ambulances?
Our ambulances are equipped with advanced medical equipment that meets or exceeds state requirements, including cardiac monitors, defibrillators, oxygen, suction, medication capabilities, and specialized equipment appropriate for the level of service being provided.
Insurance & Billing
Does Procare Accept Insurance?
Procare works with many commercial insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, and healthcare organizations. Coverage varies by insurance plan and medical necessity.
Will I Receive a Bill?
Depending on your insurance coverage, you may receive a bill for any applicable patient responsibility after your insurance has processed the claim. If you are uninsured, you will be responsible for the bill for services. You may be asked to provide a credit card up front.
